No. When my husband was still here he had is tv in the lounge room and I had mine in my office. I am now alone and can as ever watch what I want with the company of my cat.

Depends entirely about how you came about your money. If you inherited it and contributed to the running of the family business, then no, but if people died or were harmed along the way to you making your fortune, then a big YES. Bill Gates and his Pharma companies come to mind here....a fortune built on the suffering of others.

I don't get excited about specials and "specials". I always go by the unit price and very often the product not on special is cheaper if you check the unit price. Dishwashing tablets are typical and Vanish is another. Bigger isn't always cheaper.

I can relate to that. I used the same Optometrist for years and each time they suggested I get new glasses. After it was getting more and more expensive I decided to go to another one. I took in all my old glasses, as I kept them if I was desperate, and after they went through them they told me there was no need to have change all my glasses. After being told that I have been seeing them for a few years now, they are great and I've only changed my glasses once even being short sighted, having dry eye and taking medication that can affect my eyes they said it's not an issue, to only get them changed if it is a big enough change.

Yes we are.

Never had any. Too many people on this planet already. I had trouble looking after myself. No chance I would be able to care for children anyway.

There are so many sayings that I heard or used it would be impossible to name them all - one that my mum used to say is 'a wig wam for a gooses bridle' - I have no idea what it means!!!!!!!

So sorry to hear of your friend, I hope they pull thru. Yes called a 'gut feeling' for a reason, ppl do get a 6th sense of people around them and those close to them, if something is wrong. Empaths get this (feelings) alot, and sometimes it can be a little overwhelming.

I would have made an 'UNBELIEVABLE' lousy father (never learned to care for my fellow human(s)). I got 'LUCKY' and never impregnated a female. When I turned 26 - I got a vasectomy (which made sex more enjoyable for me for the rest of my life)! The 'only' accomplishment I am 'truly' PROUD of - I never become a FATHER!!

I will start by apologising to our American rewardians. Usually I don't comment on specific political figures. That said,I was gobsmacked after reading Donald Trumps solution for the Gazza strip. Does he really think America will be allowed to take control, displace thousands, expect neighbouring countries to take in these people. As well as turn it into a "waterfront paradise". This is getting really scary,if you haven't read the news article or seen him make this statement please watch it. Rumours about Ametica leaving U.N and blatantly ignoring all other country leaders in the Middle East( except Israel). And proclaiming he will be the unifying force for the Middle East. One word comes to mind "Crazy". Again this probably won't be a popular comment among rewardians ,I say this out of deep concern .

Cherokee Indian heritage here, if you do not have native american blood in your veins, you are all immigrants, get off my land and go home,,,, as you sure have ruined mine,,,

It is all rubbish but the inventors and owners will make billions of dollars while they feed us a lot of lies about making the future better.

What is wrong with this person. My 1767339, read my post on everyone's comments. How rude of a person are you! If you can't be kind, then don't comment.

No one should have any Firearms that has a Criminal record for a start. There is no need for anyone to own a firearm that doesn't work in Law Enforcement or a Security Officer or a Registered Collector or a licenced hunter or a Farmer. Here in Australia we don't have kids Murdered that are going to school or at school. One trip to America I got stopped by Police in Ca, the first thing the officer said was, how many guns do you have and where are they ? The other officer had his gun in his hand. I said "We are Aussies why would we want guns ? He said "your not from Texas then" I said "We are from Australia we don't have guns" The 2nd Officer put his gun away. The issue was the number plates on the hire car were from Texas.

I believe all media is already censored. From what we hear on the radio to what kids are allowed to read in schools, we surely don't hear the truth about vaccinations and what's good for us to eat. Big oil, big pharma and big food. They mislead us with fake shortages in gas or food so prices go up and keep making them richer, big food is in bed with big pharma because if our food can make us sick we need to be on drugs for life. For example, diabetes. How many people suffer from heart disease because the Heart & Stroke foundation put red meat on their recommended diet website? They totally contradict themselves. How many people in food and drug safety are actually investors in the meat, product, dairy, etc. industries... and let infractions go ALL the time?!! We're censored from A to Z. I saw a documentary on Netflix where this company was allowed to sell children's pyjamas knowing they were full of chemicals that were quite flammable. They got away with it because the list of their chemicals was under the heading of 'secret formula' and kids died because of it. The chemicals and 'flammable' weren't required to be put on the warning label. They had to warn that the bag they came in could be a choking or suffocation risk, but not that the pyjamas themselves would kill or seriously harm your child if they got close to a flame. It's crazy what we don't know because 'they' don't have to tell us. As far as social media goes, YES, there should be censorship when it comes to bullying or lying. But, NO, when it comes to Mark Zuckerberg getting away with censoring what people were able to read and forward during covid. Pretty much only things Gates and Fauci wanted people to read was allowed to be spread, and Zuckerberg made multi-billions because of it.

I don't understand how alot of people get really good points for doing the same thing as I do and I will only get 1 point for the same thing. Some have said it is about your points balance, the higher it is the more points you get, but that is so not true. I start my rewardia with the 5 point email reminder, then weather 1 point, picture poll, 1 point, discussion of the day, 1 point, recipes, 1 point, polls, 1 point. Then move onto surveys and play some scrabble or some other games for a couple of hours each day.

"Discussion of the Day · Sep 01, 26" I don't understand what we are discussing. Is that a picture of the house? Are we discussing your having a place to yourselves, and is it the newly purchased house? I'm not trying to be sarcastic. I'm trying to understand what the Discussion of the Day is exactly. (?) 🤔 I blame rewardia for posting it as a Discussion of the Day Post! 🤭

My Mum passed last week, it was a shame but we knew it was kinder for her as she had fallen and broken ribs and then she had a stroke, with the pain of her ribs and the stroke making her basically immobile and hard to swallow, so couldn't eat much except pureed food, she was helpless, so it was a kinder thing for her to pass. Love you Mum forever.

People who still support Trump . He is destabilizing the whole world and they just don't seem to understand how extremely dangerous he is .

I am really surprised at the comments below, and I agree whole-heartedly. I saw with my own eyes my father struggling to get out of this world! He had absolutely no rights! In my eyes, he was tortured more than any animal would EVER be allowed to be tortured. He had prostate cancer that led to bone cancer which I heard is the most painful of all cancers, and I believe that to be true! He was a gentle soul his whole life. He made trouble for no one, was a great husband, father, grand-father and provider! His family was all he cared about. For the last two years of his life, he was in the hospital more than he was out. They even castrated him to give him a couple more months of life. The family misunderstood and thought it would give him a couple more years! My mother was devastated at the thought of it. They took even his manhood from him. He had nothing left! All he asked for was to be able to sit down at the dinner table one more time! He never complained except when the pain was unbearable for even the strongest of men! I heard him scream in pain and felt so helpless. My heart was shattered! My sisters stood outside his door while the urologist tried to insert a catheter. There was no room for one because of the tumors! My dad cried out in pain as the doctor attempted to force the catheter into somewhere it couldn't go! I heard him scream then they took him out of bed for the last time. My mother and I looked into his pitiful eyes as he begged for someone to shoot him! I'll never forget that day! Because of it, I am not the same. I know it has produced PTSD in me in some form. He could NOT do a damned thing to end his pain--nothing!!! He was at the mercy of those who kept giving him treatment for something that could not longer be treated just to get that almighty dollar at the price of my dad's suffering! Looking back, I wish I had sued them for torturing him! I found out recently that he had also asked his grandson to shoot him! I doubt I could have pulled the trigger because I was his youngest daughter, and the light of his life. Maybe for that reason, I should have. Prison time would have been worth it to know I had done the ethical thing! After he finally, died, he looked absolutely gorgeous! His hair had come in curly, and he looked like he had never been sick a day in his life! That was the dad that I longed to see all of that time he was sick. Yes, his mental capacity was stable, he knew there was only one end, and he was a Christian wanting to be with the Lord! The tears flow as I write this! No family should ever have to go through this! Please get this legislation passed. We don't want our animals to suffer, but we let people suffer! Don't love animals more than your family!!! PLEASE!!!

Please, look at the Statue of Liberty and the sea level around it, hasn’t changed in over 50 years. Al Gore said the polar bears would be extinct in 2012, nope. Ice caps in some areas have actually increased. 500 wildfires in British Columbia in the summer of 2023, 450 were set by climate activists trying to claim the fires were caused by climate change. The arsonists have been charged, some have been convicted, others still awaiting trail. Mainstream media refusing to cover this. There hasn’t been one climate change claim that has been proven as fact in the past 100 years, remember the ozone layer and the attempted fear with that story?

First of all where do you get your opinion on, " more people are choosing to remain single and skip marriage..." ? firstly, many are (also) choosing to live with their partners, so it's not all about being single or married. (you did not clarify if you put having partners in the 'married' section.... Secondly, many people have also gone through 2 and even 3 and sometimes 4!! marriages before they finally come to the decision to stay single. thirdly, some may be single, but really actually do want to meet someone, especially if they are younger. They long to fit in with the rest of society, house, kids dog etc. Those than are a little older (& wiser) may be content to be on their own in life and not feel lonely. Those that are alot older and very wise, are generally happy with their life, and even though some do feel lonely & alone, are content with their lot. Bottomline, as long as people are happy within themselves, and their lives, it should not matter whether you are single, married or live with someone. Just don't feel you need to have someone in your life not to feel lonely, they should be in your life because you both love each other and mean the world to each other.

Well, Ladies and Gentlemen, try taking your pet to a vet and your own medical expenses will become insignificant!, how about $AU200 for just a check-up to which must be added all those 'nexessary' injections at around $AU90 a pop and more. At least we have Medicare for our own medicals. Don't even think about Pet Insurance! There are so many Exemptions and scams, the worst being the 'Pre-Existing Conditions'! For example: Your dog gets Arthritis in one hip, that is covered but should it develop the same condition in the other hip that is Not Covered as it is classed as a 'Pre-existing Condition'! It is no wonder all insurance companies have joined in this massive Hoax because they stand to make even bigger multi-billions on profits.

The biggest worry right now is that Wingnut that’s in power! Caused more wars and turned on the neighbors…what a friggin piece of work that is….shameful!! Got the whole world in a f…ing mess!

Wudnt touch those with a ten foot barge pole. aside ftom the side effects, they teach you nothing about eating well, nor adressing why u r eating crap foods. Stay away from them!!

Define what you consider rude. Respect is earned not granted. If someone has a ridiculous opinion they deserve ridicule. Lets face it some opinions are illegal, immoral, unethical and downright wrong. I will not respect such opinions. Having an opinion that the Earth is flat or humans were alive alongside dinosaurs will not get my respect just for starter examples. I believe most people here would not respect some ones opinion that say one race is superior to another. A mantra I live with is when arguing with an idiot make sure the other person isn't doing the same.

I agree, look at the horrible demonstrations we have had in Victoria that always end in riots. I am assuming that most people that choose to come to Australia to live are looking for a better life. DON’T BRING YOUR WARING SHIT HERE!

damn,, the nut jobs still with the conspiracy shit,, give it a break, this poll is 3 freakin years old, go find some other crap to lie about,,,♠️

I'll make a another huge generalisation on why men use garden tools - nagging partners too lazy to do it themselves.

This is all BS. Climate change is created by elites in private jets to bring about your obedience due to fear. You've never even been on a farm I would guess. They don't want farms they want to feed you insects instead. Wake up.

I got into trouble when I worked in a bank by the manager for telling people that they would only get ahead on their mortgage if they paid the regular monthly repayment as well as the interest amount charged. My manager was very unreasonable, almost yelling "that is how the bank makes it's money, Cindy"....I protested saying, "come on, you can see theiy're battlers. Every little bit helps"....but no, there was no changing his mind. To him I was ripping the bank off further profits. I left to go nursing soon after.

I am what Linda C will be calling a fool, and proud of it. I haven't eaten meat or meat-based gravy in over 20 years. I stopped eating it because when I started working in a major grocery store I saw how much meat was being sold. I looked into where it was all coming from and discovered factory farming, and what really happens in growing/feed lots, on factory farms, inside and outside of slaughterhouses and the crowding, freezing or extremely hot conditions in the packed trucks to go from 'farm' to slaughterhouse, how cruel the people are to the animals in all of these places. I've read one person's account while getting information working at a slaughterhouse and he said he was witness to cows being pulled by machine after freezing noses and even thighs to the side of these trucks. Yes, noses and thighs were left frozen and stuck to the sides of the trucks and living cows were pulled out. Sick and injured and unable to walk cows are pushed into the slaughterhouses with bulldozers and fed to you. They are called "downers". NO, there is NOT someone going in and making sure the animals are treated kindly or respectfully. Nobody makes sure the animals are even dead before the screaming pigs are dunked in scalding water to get the little hairs off your bacon, or before cows are sliced into. The stunners don't often work the first - and only - time and the animals are 'processed' so many per hour they don't have the time to make sure an animal is dead or unconscious. A LOT of them are feeling the pain. A LOT of them see the pain and fear of what's happening in front of them and knowing they're next in line. It's truly horrific!!!! And I will NOT BE A PART OF THAT CRUELTY!! The dairy industry is almost as cruel with chickens being crowded to death. For meat or for eggs. They live in battery cages where they can't move unless they all move at the same time, or 'free range' barns where you're shown pictures of baby chicks with lots of room but unless you look for it you don't see how crowded they really are when they're all close to slaughter age. Super-size-them-fast so their skin explodes and dead birds are thrown out every day because of that. Cows being made pregnant and making babies so they make milk. Those babies are taken away immediately after being birthed while the mothers scream for them. Videos show men throwing said calves to hurt their legs so they can't run back to the mothers. And what happens to all these babies?? Yes, they are killed. These milking cows are fed hormones to make them give 5 times the normal amount of milk. There is so much pain in the dairy industry emotional and physical. THINK ABOUT WHERE YOUR FOOD REALLY COMES FROM AND STOP PRETENDING IT'S OKAY.

God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.

It is possible if abandoning the world agenda comes into fashion. Self sustainability is required by this country. Back to grass roots, set up manufacturing and supply jobs again. Give people purpose and meaning again. Work for what you want and wait to achieve it. Put more emphasis on community and looking out for your fellow man, instead of being for yourself. Remember back when the village raised the child...we need to get tough on crime, love one another and look after the earth and it will provide.

A few years ago..I arrived home from work to find a mahogany chest of drawers on my front porch...it didn't have a name on it nor the manufacturer's name. I went to the neighbour's house..they knew nothing about it. I waited a few days, no one came, so I brought it inside..and I still have it.

I am an American, and I did NOT vote for Trump and will not bow down to him! Many of us are outrage and are protesting against this. It is all over YouTube that Americans are on the side of the Canadians. We support you, and I feel I should cross the border to Canada and fight the US to defend you. However, I love my country, but this is not the country thopat I am proud of. You would not believe the people who are Trump supporters and thinks he is accomplishing great things! He cares only for himself and his power. We are terrified! We love Canada, but we are stuck in the middle and if war breaks out, we could be killed for what we don't even believe in. He thinks presidents do not have to abide by the law, and he can rreign as he wishes. Our only hope is that the people and congress stops him! He has already ruined our reputation. I called him Hitler because Hitler had followers also with mind control or whatever the government is using to control them! Their common sense is gone. There is no way Trump could get elected by people with good judgment with all the things he said during his campaign. He insulted women, blacks, Jews, immigrans and veterans. Virtually anyone that he thinks isn't as wonderful as he thinks he is. I even saw a picture of him with a crown! I will not be ruled. We are losing our rights, and he appointed Elon Musk to audit the government so he has access to everyone's personal information! I did NOT vote for that. They don't care what the average person wants. You should read Project 25! They even wanted to monitor women's menstrual cycles! How scary is that, and supposedly he won the election! I have a friend who read Project 25, and saw nothing wrong with it! When push comes to shove, he backs down, but the damage is done because Canada now hates the US! We need Canada and love Canada and the peaceful decades we have had with Canada! My dad said years and years ago that Canada has never caused problems! That is a huge benefit being so close to us. Trump has lost his mind, and everyone is afraid because he would have his "people" do his dirty for him and keep his own hands clean. However, he has so much blood on his hands that it boggles my mind. If he hadn't run for president, he would be in prison! That's who we voted into office, or did we? He was not going to lose, and we all know with his money and power, he couldn't lose! I am so sick of all the chaos that started on day one. If was the same way in his previous term. Everyday he bitched about something and how bad he's treated. Now he wants revenge and doesn't care about Ukraine and in his mind, the Panama Canal is now the American Canal. We have no legal right to it, and it is not run by China! He's nuts, but tomorrow it will be a whole different story! You can tell how upset I am, and I'm sure people are turning over in their graves. I'm 72 with no children so I don't fear anything he can do to me. People with children should consider moving...seriously! I could write page after page, but it's all out their on the Meidas Touch on their website and YouTube. Trump's neice Mary Trump has a podcast against her uncle. That's pretty bad! We need to band together and fight if need be. I can't see everything I'd like to say, but you can guess what I'm thinking. Congress better see the light and do something. He blames everything bad on everyone else and everything good is because of what has done. It's all lies! I've been praying for the world. It is not a US problem, but a worldwide one. People in power don't care about us poor people. Look at other countries with dicators. They were moving here, but they probably won't now. Immigration problem solved! Great tactic, Trump! Make the US so horrible no immigrants will move here! What an ass!!!

There is a big difference between alone and lonely (and you are deliberately mixing the two of 'them'). ALONE refers to the physical state of being by oneself, which can be a neutral or even positive experience. LONELY, on the other hand describes a feeling of sadness or isolation that rises from a lack of social connection or emotional support. FYI: You completely 'lost me' when you used the word THEM in your SCENARIO!

A huge achievement for my husband when he went to cardiologist and was told he now has an ecg of a 45 year old. This is after a few years of worry. He is a lovely gentle man.

Yep, You're being a Prude. If a person is comfortable in what they're wearing....makes them feel good about themselves...then go for it, wear whatever you like. AND.... who gave you my photo ? 😅

I cannot believe I'm reading this discussion page...Rewardia CHOSE this?...what is WRONG with you?..we have a little racist who is unaware she is... scuttling around....please take this page down.....and fire the person who approved it...

Don't got there. Turn your life over to Jesus Christ. He died for your sins and when you become a child of God Almighty you will have Heaven too. Read your Holy Bible and get Born Again. Don't wait too long or you will miss Heaven all together. Then where will you spend eternity??? One life to live and then Judgement. PLEASE heed, Salvation is today.

When I was still working in the city and had to go to work early each day I came across this guy that was hanging around the traffic lights near my place. When the lights were red he would run around from car to car asking for $20 for food and a train fare. I saw people give him money. After about the 3rd day when he was still there harassing people for money, I got out of my car and threatened to thump him if he asked me again. He swore profusely at me, threatening to call the cops on me, then told me he didn’t need my stinking cash as he had plenty already. He pulled a roll of twenties out of his pocket and waved them at me. Judging by the size of that roll there must have been about 2 grand in there.. After that he never turned up at those lights anymore.

Wow, that is extremely judgemental. If a heavy woman wants to wear a skirt, a bikini, or a midriff top, more power to her. Stop the body shaming, and let people wear what they want. If you don't like it, look away.

It is not political correctness that got us in this MESS - it is racism and sexism that got us in this MESS!! Everybody says honest is the BEST policy - but nobody actually practices honesty.

I'm REALLY good at organising drawers/shelves etc. to make the most efficient use of the space, i.e. storing as much as needed, in a logical/practical/genuinely useful way to be able to access items easily, and in an aesthetically pleasing way that LOOKS organised and hyper neat too. And I have no issue with doing it for extended periods. My autism and ADHD combine, to where I can hyperfocus on a single drawer (and for an embarrassingly long time) arranging and rearranging everything to get the most perfect outcome possible. I guess I'm 'fortunate' in that the two conditions interact this way, because I'm a very atypical ADHDer in that I'm not messy/disorganised - I am INSANELY tidy and orderly, finicky, obsessive about my surroundings.... probably to a disorderly degree haha. (spoiler, I also have OCD). People been both shocked and delighted seeing the results when I've volunteered to tidy/organise their storage spaces.

Just don’t reply when we comment. I wish people would chat with me. I do get lonely sometimes and have no friends. You sound mean.

I like that ..... some patrons once asked ... we are vegans ... don't eat meat or fish and are gluten free ... what do you suggest ... he replied ... get a taxi ...

Sorry, I'm in the most effed-up country in the world (USA) so I'm not qualified to participate. But at least I didn't vote for Metamucillini!👿

Mine cheated on me. He wouldn’t consider counseling. Married her. I had a 2 and 4 year old. I have a great husband now.

Agree as allowing pets in stores will open it up and the next thing you know someone will bring their snake etc. Stores need to clamp down more on only allowing SERVICE dogs and there is very few things a dog can be a service dog eg for the blind;deaf;low sugar alert ;autistic child etc;.CAMPION dogs are not service dogs;nor is SUPPORT dogs.Stores need to be educated on the difference. Here in Ontario you can ask what the dog is needed for, just can't ask the person about their disability;eg if they say it is a working alert dog you can't ask what it alerts to eg PDSP;upcoming health event etc.

Reading, Writing & Arithmatic, Home Economics including basic money and its use. The teachers should also teach them some manners. A "Please", "Thank You", "I am Sorry" are the sort of Manners which can take you a long way. However I do NOT think that Teachers and Schools should be required to provide Breakfast for the Children. That is the Parents Responsibility, nor should they be expected to provide Pre/Post School Care, Holiday Care. They are TRAINED to Teach and that is what they sould be allowed to do.

because we don't care about ourselves - we keep electing the same people (personalities)over and over (again)

I don't agree with this discussion, people wear what they wear, if you don't like it, stay off public transport. I wouldn't mind at all. Everybody has the right to wear what they want. People are just to effended these days. I enjoy looking at people and I don't judge them by what they wear or lack of. I don't judge people period. If you don't like what people wear in public then the problem is not them, it's you.

We haven't gone far at all. In fact we are going backwards. I always want to have full control of anything that isn't alive. and make decisions by myself. It is dangerous and will damage a lot of people. Thinking for ourselves is the greatest gift of all.

Ok so just yesterday, I went into work as usual believing “yep, just another day” and I was literally thrown to the floor by a student who obviously started his day on the wrong side of bed (or worse)… anyways, this severely traumatised, autistic non verbal kid wasn’t happy when the ‘ants go marching two by two Hurrah Hurrah’ stopped playing (not my fault… the internet froze for a bit) And he totally attacked me… I hit the floor, (15 year old Māori kid giving everything he had to an exhausted 54 year old menopausal pakeha lady who has given her all to the tamariki of Aotearoa Nz for over 16 years) I’m here tonight, reading this, covered in scratches and bruises, barely able to function, due to the mental, physical and emotional stress I endure, day after day… Yeah nah I’m done I am officially an OLD woman

If your neighbour wants his friend to do it, then he can pay for it. If he wants you to help pay for it, then he and you need to agree on who should do it.

This sounds suspicious to me. Where is such a thing happening? I doubt the gov't can force you or tell you to rent a room to a foreigner or anyone for that matter.

I think you know the answer to your question and are just asking for confirmation. He is a loser and will never change - you sound like a very nice person and can deserve much better than him.

I believe climate change us being blown out of proportion. Yes there are some issues tha definitely need to be addressed but it's not the gloom and doom certain people are saying. Look at the Al Gores yhe John Kerry's and the Leonardo De Caprios. They go around in their private jet's burning mor fossil fuels the u can imagine.period.

The 2 are not necessarily the same things. Many houses used to reuse supermarket shopping bags as rubbish bags. Now we buy rubbish bags that can be made of recycled materials but still can't be recycled. The laminate on the kitchen & bathroom benches in the house we rent are fading where they get wet, but my parents' kitchen benches were solid wood & lasted for more than 40 years. I still use my Dads electric drill & it still works because the only plastic parts are the trigger & handle cover. It has outlasted 2 rechargeable drills. The handsaw I use has a wooden handle & I sharpen the blade with a file. Apparently I recently "upcycled" an old solid wood door we bought to replace a broken modern one. It's still being used as a door - it's been refurbished & reused, same as my Grandmothers' dresser made in 1908. Some things are made to last & some aren't, it's all about money, sometimes for multi-national multi-million dollar companies yet most people reading this rant aren't millionaires.

We celebrated our 54th wedding anniversary in January. I have never experienced any of your issues, though marriage is something that needs to be worked on. Unfortunately I lost him in August.

it is very fortunate your dog didn't eat them. Could they have been dropped by birds, perhaps. I would suggest putting up a shade sail at the back of your garage so nothing can come over the fence. Can you see over to see if they actually grow chillies in their yard? If you could match the type you collected with what they have growing you have a good case to go to the police with, but I would start documenting everything you think the neighbour is involved in. Just in case you need it for future reference.

There are so many people that vote for Labor even though they really don't know why so they are following a cult?

Having spent many hours in the emergency area of a major city hospital over the past 6-8 months with an elderly family member it's my experience is that many people don't need to be there and are time wasters. Hurt my leg on the weekend and leave it until Monday to go to the hospital (not an emergency), got a cold or flu and go to the hospital (not an emergency), homeless locals turn up for "some attention" (not an emergency), under the influence of alcohol and drug users making a nuisance of themselves (not an emergency). Staff are amazing often working in difficult conditions. Also, my local state government is more interested in spending money on pet projects like car race tracks and huge cost overruns on others.

even without the savings, get out and at least go to the supermarket, help a short lady get something off the top shelf, listen and watch how weird people are when they think no one is watching them...I dont use home delivery.

I always have cash in my wallet and if a store won’t accept it then it doesn’t get my business …. Then we have the Telstra fiasco a couple of weeks ago where the mighty tech went haywire and people couldn’t use the mighty plastic

This is going to dumb down young ones as they will not understand the basic and if technology is down they will have no common sense about the basics.

I have no experience with Emergency Department, but they are understaffed and underpaid. The fault lies with the government and has for years; it took Covid to bring it to everyone's attention. They do the best with what's available. Sorry for your experience but it happens every day.

I have been retired for 6 years and every day is now a holiday for me. If I feel like going out I can, but if I am too tired I just stay at home and relax and work on increasing my Rewardia points. I am hoping to earn enough to buy a large screen TV.

Almost all scrolling on the phone aren’t doomscrolling Nafka! Except a few negative effects, there are heaps of positive benefits of this act! Knowledge seeking, creativity, meeting like minded people, expressing ideas, and experiencing professional content you never came across before are some of the positives! For any elderly person, it’s far better time being spent meaningfully (whether it’s night or day) than logically, I believe! Especially, at your mature age there are no hard and fast rules to be followed! It’s your time and your law! No one can dictate terms to them! Most of their stressors generate positive energy which helps more brain power and a greater awareness in them! 😀

Those 'named days' such as bubble wrap day, talk like a pirate day, pancake day, extraterrestrial abduction day.... yes they exist and are pointless.

This sounds like incoherent rambling to me, like an old man yelling at a cloud. Times are always a-changing. I get that the older you get, the harder it may get to adapt, but if you're having challenges to adapt, there's younger family to help you out, most likely. Not all of us "younger folk" are arrogant or too dependent on our phones, I have one but I can get by without it too.

I am just thankful that the Lord Jesus gives me each day and the blessings. I am 72 years old. Each day is a gift.

WHAT? GET A LIFE and this is not days of our lives, this is supposed to be a survey site, not dear abby or is it?

Hi Debra D 624780. Should there 'still' be a deer hunting season...NO. Unfortunately, human beings have not evolved from our hunter-gather past as deer hunting season is unnecessary and inhuman at this point in humans' fight for survival on this planet. However, I have a bias viewpoint. I am 95% to 99% of the time (when it comes to food) - a VEGAN!

The elites can make you believe anything when they claim to control almost every global media outlet. The flood of migrants is a deliberate method of the elite to cause division amongst people so they fight one another. Why would they want this? They want you so distracted with all the problems like cost of living, housing crisis, business failures, destruction of the food chain, global warming lies, overpopulation so they can take your land and then lock you up in "smart cities/prisons". These smart cities are run by Artificial intelligence and track and trace your every move to ensure you exist within their strict carbon efficient guidelines every second of your life. If you step out of line you will be punshished through the digital social credit system. They may choose to reduce your food allowance, travel restrictions or maybe force you to be re-educated in a strict facility......who knows? These smart cities are already in operation in China.

Is this even a question? It's a no brainer...I've recycled since I was a child. I'm now 48 always have always will do. My family does the same. It's a privilege to walk on this earth we should treat it as such. Just my opinion

I take my hat off to you. There is no way I could do what you do. I find it hard managing life on my own. I’m 44, left home at 15 as soon as I could. Home and family life was intolerable. Constantly being told that I wasn’t wanted. Lots of violence and disharmony. I thought I I’d be truly over it by now but without the proper and normal support networks, it’s really hard. I have to keep telling myself that life could be a lot worse. I feel lucky that I’m in Australia and not in some war torn or dirt poor country. I just feel like my upbringing has left a lifelong legacy on me that is insurmountable and affects every facet of my life. Deep self esteem issues and feeling like everyone hates you. As they say, what doesn’t break you makes you stronger. Thanks for reading. Cheers

I am a shuffler, I get where im going eventually but I have to say I must be getting stronger I can lift 100 dollars worth of groceries now couldn't do that a year ago

No. If I can’t afford it I don’t buy it. I don’t need material things to make me happy. I have my husband, son and cats, including some strays, that’s all I need. For those that want it all go for it and enjoy. As long as we have enough money to eat and pay bills I’m happy

Why at 75? We are safer drivers than many other younger ones - we rarely get distracted by children in the back seat, we've learned to be more patient and less inclined to road rage, we need our vehicles/licences to enable us to keep our wits about us as we interact with others & keep up our social connections. How rude if the government to choose a specific age to try & demean others, to prove how big a bully yhey can be!

I would probably give most of it away to the poor and hungry, as well as my children and keep just enough to live comfortably for the rest of my years

When we put my mother into palliative care she said to me...you promised you wouldn't put me in a home. I had to explain to her that we couldn't look after her properly anymore. She lived with me for some weeks after a cancer operation even though I had, had a major workplace injury.(siblings couldnt stomach her condition). It was like the blind leading the blind but we laughed our way through. She only lasted a couple of weeks after that. I had to break the promise because more medical help was needed than I could give.

OK, for those in Australia my Wife is the 65 year old grandmother stabbed 17 times by her granddaughter a few years ago, she was not expected to live but is still here in constant pain and jumps at anyone entering a room where she is, has to keep herself shut securely inside and cannot sleep...she too is on a raft of strong medications whereas before this she would only ever take a paracetamol if she was really in severe pain!

Absolutely nothing doing. Why 🤔🤯 waste my time on things I'm never going to follow thru on. Just going to take 2026 lone i have always been doing. One day at a time . Happy New Year 🕛🎊 to all my fellow rewardia members

Have you been awake the last decade?!?! Men got DEMONIZED for taking interest in women...now, women realizing they were WRONG...they are whining why MEN won't acknowledge them anymore. Has nothing to do with the decline of manners or chivalry, and EVERYTHING to do with the radical leftist feminist brainwashing lots of women have undergone the last decade or so, conditioning them to be narcissistic sociopaths, degrading men at every opportunity and chastising men at every chance when they took an interest in them. Men couldn't even LOOK at a woman for a decade without that woman ASSUMING he wanted to do something evil to her, and, naturally, they posted these all online for the world to see, to justify their delusions. Great men are everywhere...sadly, MANY great men are simply DONE with women, thus, they don't get the OPPORTUNITY to experience kindness, chivalry and manners FROM these men. They made their bed, now THEY are laying in it. p.s. Even though this is the overwhelming truth, I personally still hold doors open for women, assist if needed, smile IF THEY look at me and so on...but, I do ALL of this because I am kind, but, I also do it WITHOUT HAVING ANY EXPECTATION OF IT BEING ACKNOWLEDGED.

It is not the banks that are at fault it lies at the feet of the state and federal governments they need to put a halt on immigration and stop housing refugees etc and put our own people first, also with older women it is not only those who stayed at home back even in the seventies and early eighties a lot of women werent covered by superannuation and that fault lies at the feet of employers at that time, that was one good thing which is due to unions.

Corporate greed (profits over people) aka capitalism lack of (business) ethics. Furthermore, grocery prices are NEVER going down and all other aspects (cost) of living life (housing, utilities, etc.) are constantly going up (make the necessarily adjustment - aka get used to it)!

The rich continuously get (income) tax cuts. Corporations continuously get (income) tax cuts. These tax cuts contributed SIGNIFICANTLY to rising income inequality! FYI: It has NEVER been about interest rates (a myth). It has ALWAYS been about WHO gets ongoing (income) tax cuts (reality)!

I know I am opposite to everyone else, but I say no. I would rather someone die in goal than the smallest chance of killing someone who may be innocent. It is not unheard of that people have been found to be innocent after having spent time in goal for a crime they did not commit. The cost to keep another person in goal instead of killing him should not come into it.

The only "make up" I use is sun lotion 50+, even on mild days. There is a reason why Australia has the highest skin cancer rate and it's called ozone depletion. And being Australian, I much prefer the natural beauty of a person to one that is "painted" up anyway.

Yes I do, I had back surgery in 2017 and it was a lower lumbar fusion and it went wrong from the start and when I got out of my 4 hour surgery that ended up taking 10 hours and after this I could not walk because I felt like I was walking down hill and falling to the right so I went back to the doctor and asked why this was happening and he said that sometimes the nerves in their canal get pinched or blocked so I had to have a second surgery. Well I went through the second surgery and now I felt like I was just walking down hill so it's half way better and then I went to see a neurologist and they said that I have had a stroke, I guess it happened in my first surgery, so anyway I am walking down hill and after about a week or two it started to fix itself and I started walking better. Then my surgeon said after x-rays were done that I had 2 discs in my neck that were blown out and it was a simple surgery so I said ok, let's do it. Well, when they do this surgery they go into your throat and make a small cut and remove a disc and replace it with a new metal disc then they closed that up and had to make a second cut to replace the second disc I didn't know this and when I went to get my surgery done there were a few things that I did not know about this, like the doctor never told me that they go into my neck to do this so when I got there I got a shock, I had to shave my beard in order for them to do this (LOL), Hell, I really didn't know that is what was going on anyway I got the surgery done after I shaved and all was good so Ii thought, after staying for 2 day's in the Hospital after the surgery the doctor decided to release me and so I left the hospital to go home and it was 110 miles from the Hospital to the house and I really felt great and happy to be at home finally and then it hit, my throat started closing up and I wasn't getting any air so I was rushed 20 miles to a local Hospital and that was the wrong hospital that I was supposed to be at so the Ambulance drivers gad to turn around and drive me 14 miles to where the hospital was and guess what, This Hospital was only 4 miles from my house again I'm still not getting proper air so they rush me inside the ER and attempt to put hoses or tubes down my throat and they ended up knocking out my two front lower teeth to do this and I swallowed them. So I laid in that Hospital for 4 more day's to get test done and on day 4 I decided I've had enough because the doctor has never came to see me , so I took the tubes out of my throat and pulled out my wires and needles and I told them that I am getting the hell out of here so the staff called security and they tried to keep me there and we started fighting and I kept saying I"M leaving, so I left and got home and I had an appointment with my neurologist and I went to that appointment and had a MRI done and they said that with all of this, I had another Stroke. I went home, I just gave up. I wrote all of this because it is a true event, But, my point is is that my Doctor got paid very well and I still am in a lot of pain and I can't work anymore and life has become a real BITCH and I also need to say that I have tried to go and see my back doctor and no one knows where he disappeared to. This is just some mucked up shit that I have been living with and I am not crying about , I hope you folks learn what you are up against prior to letting a doctor do any work on you and pick the very best qualified doctor before getting any surgery done. I hope you all have a good day!

We will understand God's plan for each of us in due time. That time isn't now. You need to rely on your faith in God and realize he's not the bad guy. On the contrary. God knows and loves us and will have us understand everything in due time. This life is a testing ground for us to grow and learn and to learn to control our bodies and souls. You aren't the only one who has lost loved ones, young and old. We'll understand when the time is right. We aren't God. We don't decide. It hurts and God will make it right when the time comes and is His decision. Kudos for sharing heartbreaking experiences. We all have them.

I suffered a spinal injury leaving me an incomplete paraplegic which means I had one paralysed leg. I had to wear an orthidic which kept my foot at a right angle so could only wear sneakers or lace-up shoes. If I wore a dress the orthidic strapped to my leg would snag it so I stuck to pants. My surgeon referred me to a neurosurgeon who told me that not only would I never get feeling or use back in my leg but I would also get much worse as I aged and one day I wouldn't be able to walk at all. I was so upset as I left his office and as I watched a taxi coming close I momentarily thought about jumping in front of it, but at the last minute I felt it probably wouldn't kill me but give some other injury. I decided to go back to my GP and discuss the matter with him. He said he felt I would improve over time but my leg would never be normal again in either full feeling or use. I saw a physio who gave me exercises to do telling me nerves can grow back if stimulated and my surgeon told me the best vitamins to make nerves grow. I went to the local chemist to buy the vitamins and the young girl there told me I needed acupuncture but only from someone who was taught in China. I managed to find a real GP who learnt acupuncture in China and he agreed to see if there was anything he could do for me. I went to physio once a week and had acupuncture once a week all the while taking the vitamins recommended. It didn't happen overnight but it did improve so that I was able put the orthidic away underneath the stairs. The injury was 1997 and I now have 80% use of my leg and 70% feeling. I can wear flat shoes or sandals but not thongs or high heels, which I don't miss, and I can walk some distance if I wear sneakers. I went back to the hospital to show them my recovery, they rarely get to see how people cope once they leave hospital. There are things I can't do and I have to be careful because I can't tell if I am standing on uneven ground or flooring which can be dangerous, but, the neurosurgeon was wrong, I did get better and I can walk unaided.

My take, global warming is a political way by our politicians to collect taxes, started with Gore over two decades ago with all his scare tactics, that truly never happened, because I believe God put all these energy resources for us humans to survive, period, we just had to figure it all out., nothing to do with politics or fear. Anything Gore said, has never happened, these frauds will always scare the masses. God will protect us if we get back to Him, and believe, this is what I believe, but people are afraid, thank you for allowing me to express my opinion, Eric.

The is always data somewhere that will tell you something will hurt you. I paid $16,000 for solar panels and now only I get 3c a kw feed in and still have electricity bills. I am not getting rid of any of my gas appliances only to have nothing as a back up during furture blackouts when too many people go over to overloaded, unreliable renewable systems. They are not nice I lived with organised black and brown outs in Qld not doing it again.

I don't think I ever needed that spare one, but I have several in my 'button box'. (I'm 75) I think most young adults today haven't been taught or wouldn't have the slightest notion or knowledge to sew a button on. It's a throw away society. Very sad.

Yep common sense has gone out the window with a govt who is more concerned about the next election than the health of the Australian people. The new rule changes are absolute bullshit and have no basis in science, purely politics to hide the real number of covid cases. Rapid tests are an important tool, but the lack of a mechanism to report the +ve cases detected by rapid tests smacks of the desire to cover up the true number of cases. The 4 hour exposure rule and household only as close contacts is absolute, unscientific, political rubbish.

If Hawaii wasn't part of the US, I'd live there in a heartbeat. Definitely somewhere warm and tropical though, or perhaps southern Europe. That said, where I live now is beautiful, we have mountains, the ocean, and winters that aren't too cold most years. I'm quite content living where I do now (suburban Vancouver, Canada).

It's interesting to see what you all eat, but I'm a meat and 3 veg type of girl not very into trying other stuff I don't know about, I have cooked tripe for my husband and liver and bacon I don't mind a wee bit more bacon than liver, but not very adventurous. Fill your boots with all the exotic food not for me X
