Discussion of the Day
Do you know any 'Boomerang Babies'?
Andrzej J27-Jun-23
In previous generations, children left home at 18 years old and became independent. Now with student debt and the increasing cost of renting and buying a house, we are seeing the rise of the 'Boomerang babies' who stay or move back home for well into their 20's. Is this good for our communities and have you noticed it in yours? Do you know any 'Boomerang Babies'?

Every family has the right to do do whatever they want, my opinion or yours makes no difference

Sad economy we live in. Prices going up on everything yet no cost of living raise. This is the New norm.

All my friends have them and they have a good thing going. I started work at 13, supported my widowed mother and started flatting at 18 (still supporting my mother). I am told how hard it is for “kids” but still believe it is as hard/easy as it was 50 years ago when there were no handouts.

What an awful name to give one's children. Yes I have had each of my 3 children take more than one return home so they could get their lives back on track. It is a parents job to help them however, not to enable them. Mine have stayed for a few weeks to a few months and then found their feet again and went on with their independent lives. Children did not leave home at 18 but usually only when they married or went into the services etc.
