Do people tend to copy the ideas of others, especially the groups they belong to? Do they then shut out other ideas as a threat to their social position within their group.?
When they said the world was not flat or that the Earth was not the centre of the Solar System, scientific groups and institutions and the church held the new ideas as evil. So do people today think for themselves and research reliable evidence, or do we still follow social beliefs?
