EILEEN W22-Mar-21
After all the trauma, tragedy, restrictions and anxiety with Covid-19 affected everyone of us to a greater or lesser degree, do you think the world will be a better place?

I think that the world will not be any better. Humanity have ruined the planets natural life cycles far beyond repair

I believe there is too much 'nonsensical' behaviour in the world...I do not understand the thinking of some people who want to change the understanding of our history, destroy statues and now do not want us to call Mum a Mum and Dad a Dad...I will not abide by this!!!

No, people are driven to blame someone for what is going wrong and take it out on them.

Be of strong faith, believe in climate change in some form or another, think of what the past eighteen months have been handed to us.FAMONS, FLOODS FIRES. Clean out the old decay and look once more cleanliness and a fresh start. Please look with ?? great heart at just what has been happening and think from within your own heart, space or commonsense. Question your self what is happening and why andlook for the answers they are closer than Oe thinks

If the world doesn’t protect itself and takes the climate change seriously, there will be no world, nor good, nor bad. The virus...well, just part of the whole tragedy.

We can only wait and see! Each day brings new challenges and I’m not sure we know for certain if it will be a better place or if we accept it.

People's attitudes have got a lot of changing before the world can be a better place. There's a lot of good in the world but still so much inequality!

Just reminded me of what the oldies used to recite when things went wrong "while the world remains a world, it can only get worse and worse". It is credited that it was first spoken by an old gypsy, in fact very often. Hope I have given it the correct translation from Hungarian.

I don’t think so, given that the pandemics we have experienced once a century for the last few centuries have made no difference. Sad, but true.

Having suffered drought, then fire, then the Covid pandemic, a mice plague and now floods that haven't been seen in 30 or 40 years, they are probably wondering what next can possibly happen. All I know is that the sun will come up tomorrow, not sure how many will be happy about it, or whether it will rise on a better or worse place.

I think people learn but those at the top, don't, too busy with their money making.

Give me a break they are so stupid that wehn they have killed everything they will still claim that there is nothing wrong.

They immediately started yapping as to how people would be traumatised, they would not be able to cope with being isolated, or even not being able to meet their friends, never mind that today we have more methods of communication than we have ever had before with phones, i-pads, email, the whole gamut of contact possibilities thenks to the Internet,. Wherever you go you see adilts and children using all this gear. The anxiety, the traima was created., It was totally unnecessary. cast your minds back to the Vietnam War, Iraq, Afghanistan and before that the Korean War and World War II. There were no phones, i-pads etc. Men & Women disappeared. Some for years, Their loved ones had no idea whether or not they were alive or dead. All they had was Hope, nothing more, Governments simply told people "We regret to inform you that ABC is Missing in Action". After anytjing up to 6 years people were reunited with men and women who were entirely, mentally altered as a direct result of what had been done to them, many had to accept that their partner, husband, wife, brother, sister, cousin had died and they had to wait 6 years before they could even begin to mourn. None of todays so-called victims had to endure any of that. They had almost constant, instantaneous contact until soemone got really ill and was locked awy in Intensive Care, I make no apology dor saying that it is time people toughened up and stopped casting themselves as "Victims" when it comes to dealing with the Covid19 Pandemic.

I had been keen to move for years, but in the end it was COVID that was the driving factor, mainly because there was so much time just sitting around and plenty of time to pack and organise the move. Since moving I have met so many people who have also relocated from other states of Australia and England. I recently started a pottery class. There are 10 students. Everyone of us has relocated in the last 12 months, three from England, one from Queensland and one from Victoria and the rest from other parts of NSW. I have also met lots of other people who have relocated. The place where I live, two hours out of Sydney is booming. There are housing estates growing everywhere. I heard on the news the other day that housing developers in Dubbo are begging the government to release some more land for housing as they cannot keep up with the demand. Are the regional centres going to keep on growing while the major cities dwindle. Two of the people I know of, who have relocated is because they have been told that they can continue to work from home permanently. They have to attend an office in Sydney once a month. That is quite doable. Will the Taxation Office start moving jobs to regional centres. I can see that there will be less taxes going to them as the home workers will be making all the claims for working at home. If lots of jobs are created in regional centres I feel it would be pleasant having a five minutes drive to an office or any workplace. Major companies I think will be better off as some of them are already moving to smaller premises with lower rents. Another thing, my daughter had a fall recently and sprained her ankle. She was told to take two days sick leave by her doctor. However, on the second day she was working at home as she did in the early days of COVID. This is a save for employers. Less people taking sick days would add up to a great saving for employers. There is a realisation now that if there are jobs out of major cities people will happily relocate to regional centres. Will governments push ahead and provide the infrastructure required with this knowledge? When COVID is really well in hand will people get sick of regional centres and crave city life again? I think thrown into the mix is the fact that the baby boomer generation is now at retirement age and here in Australia it is the first generation where both partners in a relationship have worked and are cashed up with saving including superannuation. It is interesting times.

The sooner we in Regional Victoria (where there is no COVID), are released from wearing these ridiculous (and suffocating) masks, the better - so so over it already! Avoid the city like the plague ......

We need to really love people (even those who hurt us). 2. We need to fight for justice (as many of the world's problems are caused by injustice). 3. We need to be humble (putting everyone on equal terms with each other, even if you're in a leadership role, where you should be "serving" others rather than being "the boss"). Just imagine how great the world would be if everyone did all these three!

I don't think so as Covid-19 is going to impact for a lot longer than we think. The degree of it will be less but I don't believe we will entirely remove it from the world. It could be like what most do now have a regular yearly flu shot. We may need to have a yearly Covid shot.
