None - its not recommended to feed our native bird life.
·
Andrew C 287196
Yep. Bread in particular is bad for birds. Some zoos, wildlife parks, and public parks do sell specific proper food you can give to the animals instead of using human food.

But only feed them something like green peas - much healthier, bread is not good for them and left over bread allows mould and bacteria to grow in the water.

We took a group of elderly people to the Melbourne Botanical Gardens for a picnic lunch once. They have swans in the lakes. When it came to lunch time, the swans gathered around and SNAPPED the food for our hands, WE had to stop on the way home to get somrthing for the elderly to eat.

none unless I had the right bird feed for them. People feed them bread and it is not good for them at all and should be banned.

Feed all, eat all, but I think it's illegal somewhere to eat a swan.
·
Debbie T 90841
Think I saw somewhere that Queen Elizabeth II owns all the swans in the Commonwealth so yeh it would be illegal to eat a swan.

Ever tried feeding just 1 bird on a pond?. Anyway there were actually 6 birds in those pictures...lol
·
Rosemary E 383382
It depends what the treat is. Apparently you are not supposed give them bread at all. They have trouble digesting it if they have too much. Also, if they don't eat it all it ferments in the water and contaminates it terribly
·
Kay H 82513
if only one it have to be the mum as she has mouths to feed also
